Live on Beautiful Lake Wylie

Having a home on the shores of a beautiful lake in one of the outstanding Lake Wylie neighborhoods is a dream come true. These upscale communities have gorgeous homes, incredible amenities, unbelievable scenery, and much more.

Let’s feature just two of these unique neighborhoods and some of the attractions that are nearby.

WOODLAND BAY

This exclusive gated intimate community on the South Point Peninsula and main channel of Lake Wylie is an unspoiled natural beauty wooded area with majestic custom homesites on 3/4 to 5 acres. It is an easy commute to historic downtown Belmont, to Uptown Charlotte for shopping and restaurants, and is only 30 minutes away from the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is just across the street. Enjoy an exhibit on African stone carvers, water features including the Tunnel Fountain, the Lost Hollow children’s garden, the Orchid Conservatory, and many plants.

The family and pet friendly Harbortowne Marina, one of the best on Lake Wylie, is less than five minutes away. A “ship’s store” lets you gas up your boat, purchase necessary items, and have a hot dog or ice cream. This little piece of southern charm also makes famous Sundrop slushies.

WINDSWEPT COVE

This waterfront neighborhood on the shores of Big Allison Creek on Lake Wylie has 119 magnificent custom homesites of 2,300 to 7,600 square feet that are situated on 224 acres of large wooded lots that average 1.6 acres with boat docks, piers, and protected trees.

You can enjoy a clubhouse, pool, and other fine amenities as well as boating, fishing, swimming and more due to access to Lake Wylie. Just over the bridge is the Allison Creek Public Lake Access with a ramp, boat landing and dock.

The Concord Cove Restaurant is just down the street . It offers exquisite cuisine in an elegant dining atmosphere and is a good meal with a southern appeal. Try Oysters Rockefeller or Bruscetta as appetizers, a rack of lamb with four chops or a ribeye with a citrus marinade for an entrée, fantastic garlic mashed potatoes as a side dish, and a homemade dessert.

Specialties also include a wonderful brunch/lunch offering on Saturdays and a breakfast of fantastic Benedict: English muffins with pimiento cheese, country ham, sautéed mushrooms, poached eggs, excellent hollandaise sauce… and cheese grits!

Kings Mountain State Park

Forested trails are perfect for hiking, there are two fishing lakes, and adjacent is a National Military Park Revolutionary War site, where, every November, living history is presented at the replica of a South Carolina 19th century farm.
