The Only Three Natural Products You Need for Cleaning

Buying just a few bottles or cans of cleaners every month takes money out of your budget that you could use in other ways. If you’re like most people, you might find that those cleaners are harsh and leave behind a chemical scent in your house too. Those with allergies to different products and those with breathing problems may have a hard time being around those products as well. As long as you have three simple and natural ingredients in your home, you can clean every part of your house without relying on any chemicals.

Distilled White Vinegar

One of the best ingredients at your disposal is ordinary distilled white vinegar. There is very little that this simple product can’t do. Add ½ cup of the vinegar when doing laundry to use it as a natural fabric softener, or mix ½ cup of the vinegar with a gallon of warm and soapy water to clean your floors. You can even make your own air freshener and room deodorizer. Simply mix one tablespoon of fabric softener with ¼ cup distilled white vinegar. Place in a spray bottle and fill with water before using around your house.

Lemon Juice

Get rid of food stains on glass or plastic storage containers in minutes with a little lemon juice. Cut the lemon in half, rub one half on the stains and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. The natural acidity of the lemon cuts through even the harshest of stains. Lemons can also take care of odors and stains in your microwave too. Cut a whole lemon into thin slices, place in a glass bowl and set in your microwave on a low setting for 45 to 60 seconds. The lemon will cut through stains and leave behind a fresh scent.

Baking Soda

A small bowl filled with baking soda and set near your litter box will absorb odors and reduce the animal smells hiding in your home. You can also use baking soda to clean your counter. Sprinkle the baking soda across the country, apply a small amount of water and wipe the solution off with microfiber towels after scrubbing. Baking soda and vinegar poured inside a drain and followed with hot water can get rid of clogs too.

With these three simple ingredients, you can clean your home without reaching for any harmful chemical products.
